LIONS OF IRAN
This painting shows the Persian lion in attack mode, protesting in its own way against the renaming of the "Persian Gulf" and issuing a blunt warning to all those arrogant figures who think they can play childish games with the history of an ancient nation. "Don't play with the lion's tail!" In the background of the painting you can see the tomb of Cyrus the Great, the founder of the Persian Empire and the father of all true Iranians. In the lower part of the painting the Persian Gulf is shown in red. Red is the color of blood and reminds us of the many human sacrifices that have been made for the motherland over the last 4000 years. Once again, Davood Roostaei used his art as a peaceful means to express himself and speak for the millions of Iranians who do not have the opportunity to raise their voices.
